I like what I see so i am just following you. Just kidding! If i use Acronis TrueImage instead, i receive an error when he try to copy damaged sectors, but the other sectors are cloned right.
EDIT: Also, since you probably will have to buy a new drive anyway, you could try copying a drive to drive, not to an image file.
