Please post back withe error code in Device Manager. I even bought a new Mashita DVD drive with no luck. Help!! I had no upper or lower filter entries so deleted all entries under the designated key except default which would not delete.

Only thing I haven't done yet is make the registry keys Read Only after removing the Upper and LowerFilters to prevent them from being written in again.
