Though if I run the diagnosis option on the CISCO virtual adaptor....it states that it "doesn't have a valid IP configuration" and does not fix it..... I am using the latest VPN (5.0.07.0440) and 64bit Window 8.1. Now VPN is connected sucessfully.

Can you confirm your Windows is the 64bit version and not 32bit version? Below executables are running in the XP compatability mode.cvpnd.exe, VAInst64.exe, vpngui.exe2. If this procedure does not work, run the following command from cmd: reg add HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters /v ArpRetryCount /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f Then reboot. thanks THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
